Current Favorite Spring Looks

Let's talk color! A topic that I haven't touched on in a while, or as of lately at least.

During the past few months I've been so occupied with adding less color into my wardrobe and keeping it more minimal that I completely forgot what it felt like to wear something on the brighter side. I believe it had to do with festival season being upon us, I always love seeing all of the bohemian looks that people wear while attending these festivals. So, it gave me some inspiration to do some research and add some new Spring/Summer pieces to my closet.

Recently, I came across a clothing site called Tobi and I loved a lot of what they carry. I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone and grab new silhouettes that can bring me life! I also wanted to challenge myself with getting a strappy dress--this is something a literally never wear, showing more skin than usual is something I've never been ballsy enough to do. My shoulders we're always a part of my body that would make me feel self conscious of showing in public, so, I would always shy away from anything sleeveless.

As a kid I was always raised to dress conservative--I wasn't able to show too much skin, especially living in a religious household, my mom would always trip on me when I would wear anything that looked too provocative (which thinking back now I never really wore provocative things), moms will be moms! Now, times have obviously changed and although I'm late to the game it's fun to explore something totally new for myself.

I came across these 3 pieces that caught my eye the most. I feel like each item has it's own touch of uniqueness and can be styled anyway you like.

First look: A romper was definitely crucial for me to get, I decided to just pair it with a basic slip-on boot from Zooshoo, the romper is already a statement in itself that I didn't want to over-do-it with adding more things to it.
I would also pair this with some mules for the hotter days.

Second look: I went with this beautiful pleated dress. I loved the silhouette and fit of it, I'm usually super picky when it comes to strap dresses, I wont just wear any strap dress, and I felt like this satisfied me on all levels. Not to mention, it's very comfortable and easy. I decided to pair it with a basic tee from Zara that I cut into a off-shoulder top. It gives it a bit more of an edgy look instead of it looking just like another basic dress.

Third look: Taupe is the color of this dress, also another crucial color to have in my wardrobe this season. The fit of this dress was so light that you barely feel it on. What I liked most was the front detailing of the embroidered design and lace-up. It brings a soft feminine touch to your look and is oh-so-comfortable as well! To add a little more to the look I paired it with a choker body-chain.
